I'm Kind of Worried
About the Boys

New York — 2025–2026

I'm Kind of Worried About the Boys began through test shoots with new face male models, initially approached as straightforward fashion work. Over time, I became more interested in the tension between performance and vulnerability — in the way these boys presented themselves when styling, makeup, and fashion constructions started to fall away. Coming from a perspective shaped by observing masculinity both from within and at a distance, the work slowly became less about fashion imagery and more about projection, transition, and emotional friction. These portraits attempt to freeze fleeting moments of young masculinity suspended between self-invention and uncertainty.

Olivier

Rye, New York — 2025

I met Olivier in January at a test shoot arranged by his modeling agency. We immediately hit it off and he loved being my subject. After a couple of hours exercising our artist and muse relation, we started getting comfortable. He had just moved upstate to a city called Rye after years living in Manhattan. He enjoyed the calmness. Eventually, talking about hobbies, interests, and worldviews, he mentioned his deep affection for guns. I'm sure he explained it in a more politically conscious way, but for me, curiosity was provoked simply by the notion of this gentle, masculine young man holding a gun. Searching for something not yet clear, I asked to go to his house upstate and photograph him with his guns. To which he responded, "When?"
